Since we had Sara's party a couple of days before her real birthday, we had to do something fun on the actual day. So what do you do with a one year old in Birmingham? The zoo, of course! What else?
Big sister got to play hooky from school that day, too.
First, a spin on the carousel.
Then some bubble time for Anna.
Sara and Grandmama just took it all in.
Then, on to the splash pad. Anna was a little hesitant at first, but then she got a little more brave!
Sara had one present left to open on her real birthday. Baby Stella, cradle, and accessories from Grandmama, Grandpa, and Ms. Susan. (The cradle was mine when I was a little girl, but it now has a fresh coat of paint.)
Here's the only picture we got of the girls together all day. Not great.
After a trip to the library that night to see a puppet show, it was back home for one last birthday cupcake.
The birthday girl completely pooped at the end of a long, fun, HOT day!
