We spent part of Father's Day weekend at Smith Lake this year. We thought Anna might have fun just putting around on the new Sea Doo. After all, this is our fearless child. We even bought her her own little life jacket in preparation. Looks like we're having a fun time with Grandpa, doesn't it?
Think again. On closer inspection, you can see the look of absolute terror on my child's face.
We're not sure what she was more upset about: actually being on the "little boat" as we kept calling it or the fact that we were slowly floating away from the rest of the family on the shore. She kept yelling out, "Grandmama! Grandmama!" (Didn't seem to care that we were leaving Daddy!) Either way, we've probably permanently traumatized her and she'll want nothing to do with the lake or the Sea Doo ever again.
Good news: After a little time away from the water, she was agreeable to going on a pontoon ride. She only clung to me for the first ten minutes or so!
