6 Months Old

Sara turned 6 months old on December 11.  I can't believe she's reached her half-birthday already!  At her 6 month check-up, she weighed in at 15 lb, 4 oz and was 25 1/2 inches long.  She's still cruising right along in the 50th percentile for both.  She's now able to sit up on her own without any trouble and  she's started eating "real" baby food.  Her  appetite seems pretty good.  She loves all fruit and seems to like the orange/yellow veggies okay, but hates anything green!  This happy baby, who rarely gets fussy, actually cries if you try to feed her a green vegetable!  She has also started eating the Gerber "Puffs" and is doing a pretty good job picking them up and getting them to her mouth.  She loves these and would probably eat a whole can at one sitting if we'd let her!  In the most shocking development, she's getting two teeth (front bottom)!  As Anna didn't get her first tooth until she was 9 1/2 months old, I couldn't believe it when I first felt those pointy little teeth poking through her gums!  She must take after her dad in this respect, because all the babies on the Christian side of the family seem to be late teethers.  We laugh because Sara has already caught up to her cousin James who at 15 months still only has his front bottom two teeth!
