One Year Old!

Anna turned 1 year old on July 30! Our baby is now a toddler! At her 12 month check-up last week, she weighed in at 20 lbs. 8 oz. and was 28 1/2 inches long. Still in the 50th percentile for weight and back in the 50th percentile for height. She must have had a growth spurt since her 9 month check-up (or else she was just wiggling around too much last time to get an accurate measurement.) As for milestones this month, she's just started trying to stand up on her own, but can only stay up for a second or two at a time. No walking yet. Her language skills are really coming along (which, of course, pleases her mom, the speech-language pathologist!) Her first word (other than "no") was probably some version of "dog," but she also now has her own versions of "bubbles," "book," and "ball." Other tricks include using the sign language version of "more" at mealtime and showing you where her nose is. Socially, her new moves are blowing kisses and giving big hugs around the neck--so sweet!

Party pics coming soon...
